IMABuildeRz v3 is a powerful tool that can help you create amazing apps with Ionic framework in no time. In this article, I will show you how to use IMABuildeRz v3 to create a simple app that can display news articles from different sources. You will learn how to use the JSON/API scraping add-on, the list view component, and the in-app browser component. You will also learn how to customize the app's appearance and settings.

Step 1: Create a new project

To start creating your app, you need to create a new project in IMABuildeRz v3. You can do this by clicking on the Create New Project button on the dashboard. You will be asked to enter some basic information about your project, such as the name, description, package name, version, author, etc. You can also choose the app's theme and icon from the available options.

For this example, I will name my project News App, and use the default settings for the rest of the fields. You can change these settings later if you want. After you fill in the required fields, click on the Create Project button to proceed.

Step 2: Add JSON/API scraping add-on

The next step is to add the JSON/API scraping add-on to your project. This add-on will allow you to fetch data from any JSON or API source and display it in your app. You can find this add-on in the Add-Ons section of the sidebar. Click on the Add button next to it, and you will see a pop-up window where you can configure the add-on's settings.

The first thing you need to do is to enter the URL of the JSON or API source that you want to use. For this example, I will use the [News API], which is a free service that provides news headlines from various sources. You can get an API key from their website and use it in your URL. The URL format is as follows:

You can replace the source parameter with any source that you want, such as bbc-news, cnn, techcrunch, etc. You can also use multiple sources by separating them with commas. For this example, I will use bbc-news and cnn as my sources. My URL will look like this:

After you enter your URL, click on the Test URL button to see if it works. You should see a preview of the JSON data that will be returned by the URL. If everything is fine, click on the Save button to save your settings. Step 3: Add list view component

The next step is to add a list view component to your app's home page. This component will display the news articles that you have fetched from the JSON/API source. You can find this component in the Components section of the sidebar. Click on the Add button next to it, and you will see a pop-up window where you can configure the component's settings.

The first thing you need to do is to select the data source for your list view. You can choose from the available data sources that you have created or added to your project, such as JSON/API scraping, WordPress, WooCommerce, etc. For this example, I will choose the JSON/API scraping data source that I have added in the previous step.

After you select the data source, you need to map the data fields to the list view items. You can drag and drop the data fields from the left panel to the right panel, and adjust their order and appearance. You can also add some static text or icons to your list view items. For this example, I will map the following data fields to my list view items:

  • title: This is the title of the news article. I will use a large font size and bold style for this field.

  • urlToImage: This is the URL of the image that accompanies the news article. I will use an image component to display this field.

  • source.name: This is the name of the source that published the news article. I will use a small font size and italic style for this field.

  • publishedAt: This is the date and time when the news article was published. I will use a small font size and normal style for this field.

After you map the data fields, you can preview how your list view will look like by clicking on the Preview button. You can also change some other settings, such as the layout, spacing, padding, etc. If everything is fine, click on the Save button to save your settings. Step 4: Add in-app browser component

The final step is to add an in-app browser component to your app. This component will allow you to open the news articles in a web view within your app, instead of launching an external browser. You can find this component in the Components section of the sidebar. Click on the Add button next to it, and you will see a pop-up window where you can configure the component's settings.

The first thing you need to do is to select the trigger for your in-app browser. You can choose from the available triggers that you have created or added to your project, such as buttons, list view items, etc. For this example, I will choose the list view items that I have added in the previous step.

After you select the trigger, you need to enter the URL that you want to open in the in-app browser. You can use a static URL or a dynamic URL based on the data fields from your data source. For this example, I will use a dynamic URL based on the url data field from my JSON/API scraping data source. This field contains the URL of the news article that corresponds to each list view item.

After you enter the URL, you can preview how your in-app browser will look like by clicking on the Preview button. You can also change some other settings, such as the toolbar color, title, back button, etc. If everything is fine, click on the Save button to save your settings.

Step 5: Build and run your app

Congratulations! You have successfully created a simple app that can display news articles from different sources using IMABuildeRz v3. You can now build and run your app on your device or emulator. To do this, you need to click on the Build button on the top right corner of the dashboard. You will see a pop-up window where you can choose the platform and mode for your app.

You can choose between Android and iOS platforms, and between debug and release modes. Debug mode is for testing and debugging purposes, while release mode is for publishing and distributing purposes. For this example, I will choose Android platform and debug mode.

After you choose the platform and mode, click on the Build button to start building your app. This may take some time depending on your internet connection and server load. Once the build process is completed, you will see a download link for your app's APK file. You can download this file and install it on your device or emulator.

You can also scan the QR code that is displayed on the pop-up window to download and install your app directly on your device. You will need a QR code scanner app for this purpose.

Once you have installed your app, you can launch it and enjoy reading news articles from different sources using your own app created with IMABuildeRz v3. Conclusion
